Layla loves to stand up. If you hold her up she laughs and smiles and locks her knees. When you try to sit her down-she won't bend her knees. This video shows her locking her knees...Don is doing funny things with her. I love family time!

Puppets and Dogs-Layla loves them. She will be watching a Baby Einstein video and the puppets will be on the TV and she will just squeel and giggle. When Caymus walks by her she reaches out and starts to laugh and scream. I made a video of it.

Holly Update

I know this is Layla's blog but I thought I would give everyone an update on my life since all of my friends and family read this. I put in my two weeks notice at work today. I love my company and it really has nothing to do with my company but with someone I have to work with who works for a different company that I have to deal with. This man is evil.

I do not have another job yet but something is in the works. I could have waited until I found another job to leave but I didn't want to prolong working with this evil man. I will update you when I know what I will be doing for sure.

Good Morning

Good morning! I am getting some computer work done and Laura and Layla went on a walk. Laura takes Layla in the Bjorn every morning and they go for a walk around the neighborhood.

I came home from work to find Layla laughing in her bouncer with a blanket on her head. I think I will call her Layla Rose Lee. Laura told me that Layla does not like chicken. :( We will try again soon!

Grandparent's House-Pictures

My mom came into town and Layla spent the night there last night. I think the last time that Layla stayed with my mom was over a month ago!?? It was nice to go to dinner with Don and friends and get out for a night.

I took Layla over to my moms yesterday and stayed with her for a while because she has started getting stranger anxiety. Not only is my mom a stranger ...but now my dad was too! I stayed over until about 4 when Layla took a nap. She woke up from her nap and cried a lot. She missed me. :)

My mom said that Layla cried a lot after I left. She put her in a stoller and took her on a walk and that made Layla feel better. My mom said that Layla slept all night-from about 8:00 to 7:00. I think all of that crying must have wiped her out!

My mom said that Layla is a good eater and sleeper. She slept well and ate carrots, bananas, rice cereal, and sweet potatoes. I just called and Layla was sleeping in her diaper. My mom is going to give her a bath and I am going to pick her up at around 2:00. I really miss Layla. I can tell Don does too. It is nice to get a break but we are always excited to get her back!

Did I mention that I am in love with my nanny? I really am. I think Don may be too.

This week she started taking Layla on walks with the Baby Bjorn. The first day Layla would cry when the cars would drive by. Today she was fine-so I guess she had to get used to it. Laura came back from their walk and Layla was in the Bjorn with a flower in her hand. Laura said it was for me. She is the best!

Today Laura gave Layla carrots and she said that Layla really liked them. I asked Laura if carrots are Layla's favorite food and she said that Layla's favorite are still the sweet potatoes. :) Laura tried to give Layla rice cereal this morning and Layla would not eat it...I guess she has been spoiled with green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, and carrots.

Laura told me today that she misses Layla on the weekend.

I came home today and she was giving Layla a bath. I took some pictures.





I was leaving to go to work and had to get my camera because Layla was asleep on Laura's lap face down. This picture was taken sometime this week.

Aunt Heather comes to town!

Heather was in town for training for a night so Layla and I went to go see her for a few hours one night this week. Layla really likes Heather. Heather plays a fun game with her and Layla laughed harder than I have ever heard her laugh!

Heather said that Layla looks completely different-that she has gained a lot of weight and filled out more since our trip to our grandparents last month.

Layla's new Trick

There is nothing like coming home from work to find Layla doing something new. Laura taught Layla this trick and they were doing it all day. I love it!

I came home today to find Layla in her Bumbo on the kitchen counter with a spoon in her hand (which was also in her mouth) with gross looking orange food all over her mouth. Laura told me that the orange stuff was sweet potatoes and that Layla loves them and ate the entire box.

I guess I can admit here that I am a little weird when it comes to having food all over the place. I know I need to get over this because once Layla starts eating it will be hard not to have it. When I feed Layla her green beans I wipe her mouth after each bite so she stays clean. So....this was a little gross to me but it was funny. The funny part is that I told Laura Layla can only have green beans for now and this week she has had green beans, bananas, and now sweet potatoes. I wonder what will be on the menu tomorrow.... :)

Baby Kisses

Layla and her Jumperoo 18 Weeks

Layla is almost 16 pounds. She has almost outgrown her #2 Pampers diaper and will be moving to #3 as soon as we run out. I always thought it was a little strange to see a big baby in a carrier with their long legs hanging out of the end...but Don and I just came back from Mi Cocina and Layla had one leg out of her carrier and we were those people with that baby!

Layla is a dancing fool in her Jumperoo. I love it. I could watch her feet go for hours.



Layla had bananas today. It was not her first bite---I saw that the nanny had given her some this week. She LOVED them. After each bite she would make this noise ...it was almost a cry until I gave her more. After eating half of the bananas she was done. I am sad that I didn't get it on video because it was funny. I was going to just feed her green beans this week but that went out of the window with Laura. What can I say to someone who has completely organized my home?? Don and I keep finding new drawers rearranged every day. I really think this may be my dream come true.

Super Nanny

Ummmm....Is this my house that I walked into? I think I have the best kept secret around-my nanny. Words can not describe how I feel about her. I will let the pictures do the talking.







That was Layla's room. Now she has started to do things to my closet. I came home from taking Layla to Jymme's house and this is what I found in my closet.



I never told her to do any of this. I think I am in heaven.

mmmmmmmm....Green Beans..Layla's First Bite

Layla had her first bite of Green Beans yesterday. I thought she liked it at first. Now I am not so sure because after I turned the camera off-she gagged on the last bite. :)




Did I mention that I love my nanny? I came home from work yesterday to find her cleaning the outside windows (for those of you who have not been over they are ceiling to floor and there are a lot of them) while Layla was in her walker sitting right in front of the window she was cleaning. SO CUTE! She organizes Layla's drawers, her diapers, etc. She does so many things that I didn't ask her to do.
I will try to get more pictures of Layla and Laura today. Maybe when I get home from work.

Layla's 4 month doctor visit

I just returned from taking Layla to her 4 month check up at the doctor.
She now weighs 15 pounds and 10 ounces (90% range) and is 26 inches (95% range.) She is so big!!!!

Laura went with me and helped me so much!

The doctor said that Layla is starting to have stranger anxiety because she cried the entire time when he was around. He said it is a little early for her to get it but it is good because it means she is aware of her surroundings. (Mom-he said that this explains why she is acting the way she is around you-You stranger!) Every time Layla would start crying she would stop when she looked directly at me or Laura. I am so glad she did not do this around Laura when she started working with us! The doctor said it will probably happen until she is 2 years old everytime I go...I look forward to that!!

Layla had her shots and they also gave her some medicine that had a grape flavor...she loved it!

I can start feeding her food if I want so I am going to go buy some food at the store soon. I can not wait to see her reaction.
