Wow-how time flys by! I can not believe that the end of my maternity leave is coming soon and Layla is already almost 4 months old. I am getting a little sad just thinking about not being able to spend so much time with her. I know it will be such a relief to have a nanny to help me and to get back to work and have adult interaction again. I wish I could have it both ways but I know that there is no way to.
We have been really busy lately. Sunday Don and I took Layla over to Jymme's house so that she could watch Layla for the night. After dropping Layla off we went to a work party that Don's boss was having. It has been a while since we went out without Layla so it was nice to go to a party.
Monday afternoon I went to Jymme's house to pick Layla up. Layla was in the middle of the living room in a jumper and was as happy as ever. She was bouncing around while laughing.
My mom was in town today-she leaves tomorrow. My mom and I spent the day shopping and bought Layla some really cute clothes (6-9 months.) She is growing so fast and her 3-6 month clothes are getting a little tight already.
My mom wanted to buy something for Layla to play in while Layla is at her house. We looked at the cute thing Jymme has (which is really the best thing I have seen-Layla really LOVES it) but my mom decided to get a walker instead (something that Layla can use later.)
I took pictures of Layla in her new walker. We had to put a blanket on the floor for her to stand on because her feet did not touch the ground.
Layla found her thumb today!
And after a long day of jumping in almost every jumper at the store and sucking her thumb-Layla passed out.
Yes-I know what you are thinking....why is that diaper jacked (like my word? LOL) all of the way up to Layla's chin? After changing millions of diapers---I still am not the best at it. In fact-My mom said over and over today "I think that skirt is too little for Layla." I had to say, "NO-Her Diaper is just really high! That is how I put it on." I think I need a diaper lesson from Jymme and Elise because I have seen the work they do and it doesn't look like mine! :)
Laura (the nanny) starts tomorrow at 9:00 am. I will try to sneak a picture of her so you can see what she looks like!

Eating more Rice Cereal
I have been feeding Layla rice cereal every morning-just a few spoon fulls! Sometimes I think she likes it because she will open her mouth really wide for me but then she lets the food just sit in her mouth. I am not really sure what she thinks about it yet. What do you think?

She is growing!
Layla is getting so big. If you look back at Layla in her Baby Einstein jumper you will see her standing on a pillow because her feet didn't touch the floor. Well...Look at her feet now!
Alison came by this morning. She watched Layla for a second while I put the Bugaboo in the car. I walked into the room and this is what I saw. Awwwww... :)

Layla and Caymus
Don and I went to dinner again tonight and the waitress asked how old Layla was and when we said 3 months she said that Layla was big. This has now happened 3 times. I want to go back to the Dr asap and get her weight checked. I see her every day so I don't know what to think of her size.
At dinner Layla smiled at Don the entire time with a HUGE smile on her face.
Layla is smiling at EVERYONE now. It is SO CUTE!
I can't quit singing the mama's little baby song and Layla absolutely loves it! I don't know if it is the song or the cheesy face I am making when I sing it...but whatever it is makes her really laugh!

Mamas Little Baby
While I ran to the store yesterday-Heather made a video of Cosmo and Layla. Nice singing Heather! Now I REALLY can't get that song out of my head.
The song-I guess everyone knows of this song but me. While driving 9 hours to see my grandma...I found a kids channel on the radio. This song came on and my sister said that my dad used to sing this song. I have NEVER heard my dad sing-EVER. I didn't believe it. I asked him and he does know the song and he sang it for me. Weird! What is even more weird to me is that Don knows the song as well.

Teething
We think Layla is teething-what do you think? When I try to feel for a tooth I do not feel anything...but she has been crying like crazy and chewing on anything that she can.

Grandparents
There is something going on with the Poole family. Layla LOVES my dad, his mom (mimi), and Heather. She just laughs and laughs and laughs at all three of them!
Layla was really interested in Cosmo. Normally when I put her in a bouncer-she cries. I had to pack up the car and so I put her in the bouncer right next to Cosmo in his pack and play and they were both very quiet. LOL
Layla slept the entire way home from Navasota. :) She is sleeping in her crib right now. I think she is exhausted from the trip.
Heather has a ton of pictures and videos that she took and I will post those as soon as she sends them to me.
I am going to my parents house tomorrow to hang out with my mom, dad, Heather and Cosmo because Heather and Cosmo leave tomorrow at around 5:00. I will post pictures/videos from tomorrow on here. Cosmo LOVES to put his feet on Layla. Heather made a video of this. I might take my computer to my parents house tomorrow and download the video of Cosmo putting his feet on Layla because it is really funny.

HO-TEL MOTEL COMFORT Inn-say Whattt!!???
We finally arrived in Lake Jackson after NINE HOURS in the car. YES-NINE HOURS.
Lake Jackson is about 5 miles away from Dallas.
Cosmo and Layla played with bows that were on presents that Mimi gave to us wrapped in Christmas paper. Como was getting into all of Mimi's drawers.

I didn't realize that Heather was especially interested in anything that looked like a really sick Texas postcard. We were at this mexican restaurant trying to get the babies out of the car...Layla's carrier weighs so much I could barely hold it and I look up and Heather isn't getting Cosmo ready AT ALL. I look over and she is taking a picture of some old fat man standing by truck towing a tractor. That was the start of it. She is going to post all of her sick Texas pictures on her blog.
I dropped Heather off at the front of the hotel so that she could check in. When I walked in the door Heather was all ready for us with 2 cribs. LOL.

We think Layla may be teething-what do you think?

They Meet!
We picked Heather and Cosmo up from the airport today and they finally met!
Can we please talk about this foot of his propped up on the highchair? LOL
Layla and Cosmo like to rub heads. We think...

Hair Pulling
I am not going to have any hair left if Layla doesn't stop pulling it all out. She grabs it and holds it so tight...I have to open her little fingers to get her to let go of it!!!

Layla watching TV
Layla has been really interested in watching TV. It can be anything-and she will watch. The other day George Bush was on the news and she started laughing and looking at him. It was so funny!
I am picking Heather and Cosmo up from the airport tomorrow. We are going to document our trip on the blog for you to see. We will make videos of Layla and Cosmo with our grandparents and post them for you.

Layla Found a Friend
Layla found a new friend in the mirror today.

I aways feel like......somebody's watching me...
Remember that song? Well...I live it! No matter where I go...CLICKITY CLACK CLICKITY CLACK CLICKITY CLACK...is all I hear. It doesn't matter where I go...the sound always follows. I have NO ALONE TIME. It is just me, Layla, and my two shadows that follow me around...24-7. It helps when Don gets home from work...because they have two people to choose between so after 6:00 it isn't ALWAYS me.
By the way...For those of you that do not know me that well..I am quite the inventor and I just had an amazing idea. I am BRILLIANT! I can just put a nanny cam on Caymus's head. Just strap it right on top. I won't have to worry about not getting certain shots or only pointing the camera in one direction. I will have footage all day long wherever they go! In fact-I won't need multiple cameras ...All I need is ONE.
Do you want to know what Layla and I did all day yesterday? Just ask Caymus and Beauji. I cleaned out my closet. I knew I had to do it before I go back to work. This was not an easy thing to do. I would put Layla in her bouncer and she would cry because she is now at the stage where she wants to be held all of the time. She will cry her little eyes out and as soon as I pick her up-BAM-she is wide eyed with no tears. The problem was when she finally fell asleep. I put her in her cosleeper in the bedroom. Every time I would walk by her to take my clothes upstairs...It was the Dog Train coming through which would wake her up. So not only can I not get anything done while I am at home because Layla wants to be held 24-7....when she finally falls asleep she wakes up again when the dog train comes through.

Is that Sean Preston? No-It's Layla!
I just returned from my parents house. My dad put the car seat in my car today for my trip this week with Heather and Cosmo. My car feels like the baby transportation service. LOL. I am excited about our trip. I am taking my computer so that we can take a lot of pictures and videos and I will download them while we are gone.
Heather is coming in from LA on Thursday. We are leaving Friday to go to Lake Jackson to visit my grandmother. Saturday we are going from Lake Jackson to Navasota to see my grandfather. Sunday we are driving back to Dallas and Heather will fly back to LA on Monday.
Layla and Cosmo have not met yet so I am really excited to see how they react to eachother.
I will take some pictures and videos of Layla today to add to the blog. Right now Layla is sleeping in her swing. She gets very tired when she comes home from seeing her grandpa because he has her stand up on him a lot and she laughs the entire time.
Does the head slumped over seem familiar?? LOL

Dangling Chicken Legs-Layla and her car
I bought Layla a walker because she is trying to stand up so much. Well...she is not big enough for it yet. I think she likes hanging in it though! Our living room is full of baby toys-the swing, bouncer, bumbo, the walker, and the jumper-this is definitely Layla's house we are living in!
The pets love Layla. All of them lick her (Kizzy, Caymus, and Beauji) except
Kabookie. This is a video of Beauji licking Layla.

Never Ending Bottles
Did I mention that I hate cleaning bottles? Somehow it has become my job. No matter what is going on---there is always this never ending pile of bottles in the sink waiting for me to clean. I just returned from getting a manicure/pedicure today and there they are....waiting for me.
I can complain about it all day but sometimes you have to pick and choose your battles..and the truth is ...Don is an amazing father and I am really lucky that he is.
Hold on a minute-Layla has something to say. She is talking to you Don1. She is telling on us for posting the bathtime pictures.
Her first experience with the pool.
