Layla is Laura's Doll

Laura dressed Layla and did her hair too. I was pretty surprised to pass them on the street today while they were taking a walk and I was coming home from work. I took Layla's hair out of the pig tails and she had two mo hawks all night.

I don't remember if I mentioned this here but Layla has been crying a lot lately-every time I leave the room. She lights up when Don walks in the room. I was feeling kinda sad thinking...why does she like him so much more than me? I think I have it figured it. I think Don is the fun guy...he throws her in the air, etc. She lights up and cracks up when he comes in the room. I am the caretaker/snuggler...so when I walk out of the room she goes crazy and cries. The other day she was with Laura and saw me out of the window in the backyard and started crying. My sweet little baby!

Spider Baby..

Layla loves to stand. Laura holds Layla's hands and walks her up and down the halls and all around the house all day. Layla walks around like she has so many different places to go. When she see's me-she laughs really hard.

I put Layla in her pack in play in the living room for a minute and took a video of her standing again. She stood there forever and smiled. She loves standing and doing things on her own now. Little miss independant. When she pulls herself up she laughs every time. I think she is really excited and determined to do what we are doing. She is even starting to hang on with one hand. She tried to take both hands off a few times and almost falls over and quickly saves herself.

I absolutely know 100% that Layla gets her strength from Don. He can do the most amazing things I have ever seen. He can crawl up a hallway..with his arms and legs and hang under the ceiling. Once we went to a yoga class for our first time and he was able to hold his entire body up in the air upside down with this arms. Layla is spider baby like her dad.

I am so excited for her but sometimes I wish she would slow down a little. I feel like I don't have a baby anymore. I am shopping in the toddler section now-18 months. The clothes aren't as cute as the baby clothes. People say that time goes by so fast when you have a baby. I don't think they know how much faster it can go with you have a spider baby in the 98% range with height and weight!

P Diddy

I have been giving Layla Gerber Banana Puffs and I think I have made a monster out of her. Now when I sit down to feed her dinner-baby food, water, and a few puffs....she has started to cry and not want to eat her baby food. Yesterday I thought that maybe some teeth were coming in and she was crying because of that because her bottom gums look a little red and puffy. No-tonight I figured out that she would cry and move her face when I try to feed her baby food and light up when she had a Gerber Banana Puff. Miss Layla is getting a little personality and I am sure this is just the beginning of what I am in for.

Not only does Layla like the puffs which I will no longer bring out at dinner...but when I put 6 or so on her tray-she has to grab all of them and stuff them in her mouth. All at once.

Thirty things that change when you have a baby

Thank

Don sent me this today and I thought it was really cute-and all so true!

Thirty things that change when you have a baby

What changes when you have a baby?

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your body ... finally.

5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily.

10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.

11. Every day is a surprise.

12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you.
(Hooray for poop!)

13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person.

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

Hanging with her grandparents..

Layla spent Saturday night with my mom and dad so that Don and I could have a break. We went to dinner while Layla played with my mom and Grandpa Poo. Layla played in a walker, played with her toys, laughed at Grandpa Poo, and slept through the night. She even had part of a biscuit in the morning which made me mad! LOL.

Layla is changing so much. She used to get a little scared at her grandpartents house and now she doesn't need any time at all to get comfortable there.

My mom said that when my dad leaves the room she cries. Who would have known!?
