Good News, Pictures, and Cards...Halloween that is...

I have good news. I received a job offer today and accepted! I will be an On Premise Manager for Red Bull. :) I am very happy to get back to what I love to do so much. Mr. Evil would not let me work very hard-and those who have worked with me know that I love to work! I will be starting on September 24th-a day before our anniversary and the Monday after I come back from my Hawaii trip.

I went to Babies R Us and had pictures taken of Layla. Laura was such a big help. I had to sit on the stage with Layla so she didn't fall over. Someone had to make Layla smile...Thank god for Laura-my favorite person in the world! She was making funny sounds and waving things in the air...and it worked....sometimes. How did I get so lucky to find someone who makes the craziest noises I have ever heard? Anything to make my sweet Layla crack that toothless smile!

The best trick the Babies R Us girls did was to wave a piece of cardboard in front of Layla's face. The air in her face would make her smile. It worked every time. My angel. I have been staring at her pictures all night. I can't stop. I love her so much.

I am really excited about my 2007 Halloween cards. Most of you reading this do not get them from me..I know...now you are really upset because you are missing out. :)

No really, I only send Halloween cards to family and maybe 2 friends. I think I sent them out to more people a few years back but then Don completely made fun of me for sending out Halloween cards and told me that I "Better not send them to HIS friends or family." I sent them to his family anyway.

Wait until Don hears about the Halloween GAME Heather sent me from California that her neighborhood played last year. Oh yeah...our neighbors will NEVER guess I am the one who starts it this year. Last year I felt too bad to play games. Those who know me but don't KNOW me would never know what a holiday dork I really am.

Last year I was pregnant and could not open my eyes past 6:00 so I decided to stop the Halloween card tradition. You would not be able to guess what happened next....
Don told me I HAD to send cards out because it is a tradition. LOL. Okkkayy.

SO....This year I am SUPER excited because I am joining the kid card club. Yes..that is right...I get to send a card out with Layla on the front and now I don't have to write 100 Christmas cards out during the holidays. YESSSS! No...it isn't about writing. Don always receives these adorible Christmas cards with babies and kids on the front. Each year-the kids grow so big and that is the only reminder that I am getting older. If you know me well you know that I don't feel old at all. In fact, sometimes I feel like I am 24. (I told my mom that and she looked like she was trying her best not to make fun of me.) Then I told her that Whitney feels like he is 18 and she almost lost it!

So I will be stuffing my cute Layla Halloween cards soon. :) Happy Halloween...in September from ME-the work-a-holic! :)

Big Turning Point...Layla holds her bottle

We had a big turning point this week. Well...sort of. Layla can hold her bottle while sitting in her highchair. Of course the bottle falls and she gets milk all over the place but the fact that she can wrap her tiny hands around a bottle and hold it for even a second is exciting for me!

My little jumping bean

The Highchair

Don put Layla's highchair together..and I think she really likes it! We used to put her in the bouncer on the counter but now that she is sitting up more--she tries to lean forward to sit straight up. With her new highchair-she can sit up.

Visit with the Grandparents

My mom is leaving to go back to NY tomorrow so Layla and I went over for a visit today. I didn't see my mom much this week because she had jury duty. I am trying to get Layla used to being around my mom more so that she isn't scared of her. After today-I don't think that Layla is scared of her anymore-which is great!

We gave Layla a bath and a massage. My mom said Layla did not like her bath when she spent the night a while back and I could not believe it because Layla loves baths. Well...she really liked it. Maybe it was because I was there with her this time...

After Layla's bath and massage she laid on the bed and played with some colorful blocks. She immediately passed out as soon as my mom took her leg and started shaking it gently. Layla really likes that-she falls asleep every time.

Tomorrow we will visit Don's parents. :)

Layla and her Bumbo

Layla was eating her dress while sitting in her bumbo today after breakfast. For breakfast she had peaches (Heather and Cady.)
